Who?
The groom is Prince Harry (in full Prince Henry Charles Albert David). đ€Ž Heâs a member of the British royal family and the Duke of Sussex.
The bride đ° is American actress Meghan Markle who has now become part of the British royal family and the Duchess of Sussex.
The best man is Harryâs elder brother Prince William (Duke of Cambridge and Prince of Wales).
the groom : le marié
the bride : la mariée
the best man : le témoin (du marié)

The bride has no maid of honor (it was impossible for her to pick one among her close friends).
There was a total of ten bridesmaids and pageboys.

Around 600 people have been invited to the wedding: close friends, family, religious staff and many other guests.
the maid of honor (US), the maid of honour (UK) : le témoin de la mariée (si célibataire, si mariée : matron of hono[u]r)
bridesmaid : demoiselle dâhonneur
page boy, pageboy : garçon dâhonneur
guest : invité(e)

When?
The wedding took place on Saturday, May 19 at midday. They have been in a relationship since June 2016 and got engaged in November 2017. Harry proposed to Meghan on a quiet evening at home.
to be in a relationship : ĂȘtre en couple
to get engaged : se fiancer
to propose to sb : faire sa demande Ă quelquâun
engagement : fiançailles

Where? đ
Harry and Meghan tied the knot in the gorgeous St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle đ° in the United Kingdom.

After the ceremony, the newlywed couple rode through Windsor town center* in the open-top Ascot Landau carriage. The carriage procession went all the way to St George’s Hall (the reception venue) where the main reception has been held.
They are not going on honeymoon straight away.
the reception venue : lieu de réception

N.B. : petit rappel Ă propos du verbe to ride. Il est irrĂ©gulier –> ride, rode, ridden. On lâutilise pour dire :
â que lâon fait du vĂ©lo ou de la moto. Ex. : I ride my motorcycle to work every day.
Ex. : It’s a great car to ride in.
â ou que lâon monte Ă cheval. Ex. : I never rode on a horse before.
Ex. : I drove the car all the way back to London.
To drive est aussi un verbe irrégulier :

How?
The ceremony was a traditional Church of England service âïž with a strong American flavor.
Once the groom, his best man and all the guests were seated, the last one being the Queen, the bride arrived.
In the absence of her father who was supposed to give her away (unable to attend the wedding due to a recent heart surgery), the bride decided to walk the first half of the aisle on her own. She was then joined by her now father-in-law, Prince Charles, who accompanied her to the altar.
to give her away : la donner en mariage
the aisle : allĂ©e centrale (dâune Ă©glise)
father-in-law : beau-pĂšre
the altar : lâautel
She was wearing a magnificent bridal gown with the traditional wedding veil and a very long train.
bridal gown : robe de mariée
wedding veil : voile de mariée
train : traĂźne

Meghan also respected the tradition with the bouquet. đ The groom was not wearing a tuxedo đ€” with a bow tie but his military uniform.
They signed the marriage register âïž after having exchanged wedding rings and vows.
bouquet : bouquet de mariée
tuxedo : un smoking đŹ
bow tie : nĆud papillon
to sign the marriage register : signer le registre de marriage
wedding ring (UK), wedding band (US) : alliance (bague) đ
(wedding) vows : vĆux (de mariage)

Once the ceremony was finished, they left the chapel to greet the world as husband and wife with a cute kiss:
husband : mari
wife : femme âĄïž Attention au pluriel : wives
Why? đ
They married each other because they are head over heels in love with each other. đ So this a love marriage, not an arranged marriage.
to be head over heels in love : ĂȘtre fou amoureux / ĂȘtre folle amoureuse
arranged marriage : marriage arrangé
love match, love marriage : mariage dâamour

May they live happily ever after!
(Puissent-ils vivre heureux pour toujours !)
